Orygen group comprises of two legal entities, Orygen Limited (Orygen) and Orygen Youth Mental Health Foundation (OYMHF). Orygen is a youth mental health organisation that focuses on reducing the impact of mental illness on young people, their families, and society. It is a not-for-profit organisation with a charitable and deductible gift recipient status as well as an accredited research institute. OYMHF is a non-profit organisation that supports the research and innovation of Orygen.

Orygen achieves its goals through programs including key affiliations and staff with University of Melbourne and Melbourne Health, which are funded by grants from Federal, State Government, Healthcare Income, Fundraising, Capital and International Grants. Orygen’s primary expenditure is Personnel Costs for running the programs to achieve its outcomes. The grants could be paid in advance and are acquitted as per pre-determined timelines or criterions.

Orygen embarked on a digital transformation journey to address its key challenges and harness the opportunities with the implementation of an enterprise resource planning solution. The main objectives of the change were:

• Implement an adaptable solution like Dynamics 365 Business Central (D365 BC)
• Enable Orygen to adopt to new and modernized business models faster and streamline business processes and data handling
• Track projects and employees’ activities with out of the box features
• Make sound financial decisions, smart budgeting and strategic planning
• Accelerate Financial Close, improve forecasting and obtain real time metrics.

After reviewing the requirements and series of discussions, Velrada recommended D365 BC.

D365 BC lets businesses connect data across accounting, sales, purchasing, stock, jobs (projects), customer and vendor transactions to run their operations efficiently. Incorporating a streamlined sales ledger and accounts payable, D365 BC drives the financial heart of a business, also handling compliance, reporting, forecasting, and visualizations with built-in Power BI dashboards.

Orygen engaged Velrada based on its credibility, experience and reputation, to deliver D365 BC implementation project, by designing, developing and deploying a new Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP), leveraging the Microsoft Cloud platform.

Velrada’s delivery team worked with Orygen’s stakeholders to create a user-friendly knowledge sharing environment throughout the project cycle and particularly during the design workshops, configuration sessions and training delivery. Orygen configured the D365 BC application under the guidance of Velrada and this equipped the Users with a working system knowledge prior to focussed training and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Orygen’s solution incorporated D365 BC’s out of the box functionality with particular focus on the Jobs (Projects) module and further enhanced by ISV components that were implemented solely by Velrada’s Consultants:

• Continia’s Document Capture with Advanced Capture and Matching, Document Approval, OCR capabilities for capturing Job Costs,
• Continia Expense Management including Credit Card Feeds and allocating costs to the Jobs,
• Soft4Lessee for Operating Lease Accounting catering to IAS 16 / AASB 16
• Limited Custom Development
