Velrada was established in 2009 by a group of highly experienced business consulting and systems integration professionals.

The founding group of shareholders and directors come from tier one consultancy, systems integration and enterprise systems organisations such as Cap Gemini, Andersen Consulting, Oracle and Microsoft. This team have worked for a range of global organisations including BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Australian and international public sector, Bayer AG, Virgin, Barclays, News Corp, Wesfarmers and Shell. They are responsible for leading the organisation, which is now a team of over 80, and plan to grow the team to more than 250 working across the APAC region. 

 

Robert Evans - Chief Executive Officer

 

Robert is the Executive Chairman & CEO at Velrada. He has more than twenty years of experience from software analysis and design through to large scale structuring of systems and organisational change in complex multinational organisations. Prior to establishing Velrada in 2009, Robert was Managing Director of Change Corporation, an Australian national business consulting and systems integration (SI) firm.

 

Over a five year period Robert oversaw the strategic development and expansion of the business, leadership of over 100 professional staff, and delivery of major client consulting and SI projects and programs both nationally and internationally. Change had a focus in the resource industry, working for major resource companies such as Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton and Woodside; and state and federal government. Change was recognised both for its growth in the BRW Fast 100, and Deloitte Fast 50; and for the excellence of its client work with awards from the AIIA and Microsoft. Prior to Change, Robert was a director with a specialist business and IT advisory firm in London, consulting to a range of national government agencies, metropolitan boroughs and county councils.

 

Robert started his career as a software analyst in the City of London in 1989, moving to Andersen Consulting in 1993 where he worked on a range of large scale systems and business programs over a period of 8 years for organisations such as Bayer in the USA and Europe, Marconi, Scottish Telecom and News International. Robert was a key contributor and driver of the redevelopment of Andersen's global Architected Solutions methodology, and led a number of business and enterprise architecture programs for major clients of the firm. Robert has an MBA from the University of Western Australia, an MSc (Computing & Maths) and a BSc (Information Systems).

 


Jennifer Evans - Executive Director


Jennifer is an Executive Director at Velrada. She was with Management Consulting firm CapGemini and Ernst and Young from 1998 to 2003 working with blue chip clients in the UK and Europe such as Barclays Capital, Sky, O2, Carlton Interactive and Charles Schwab. Since returning to Perth in 2003 she has led projects for Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, West Australian News Paper Group, WA public sector and various mid-cap companies. Jen has a focus in large scale organisational change management. She has a number of accreditations and qualifications in this field, and leads Velrada's change management practice. She has an MBA from the University of Western Australia, and a Bachelor of Science (Software Engineering) from the University of London. Jen completed the Leadership WA program in 2008, and has a passion for indigenous affairs.

 


Andrew Crampton - Executive Director

 

Andrew is an Executive Director at Velrada. He has over 20 years of experience in technology strategy development and IT project and programme delivery with international clients in a wide range of industries. For the last six years Andrew has worked almost exclusively on consulting engagements within the resources sector and predominantly with Rio Tinto Iron Ore, Woodside and Worley Parsons. His recent experience includes Programme Management of a highly successful $40m communications and technology portfolio of projects to design and commission the Rio Tinto Iron Ore Remote Operations Centre at Perth Airport, project management of the RTIO Voice and Data Communications Strategy Programme of work and the design, establishment and management of a PRINCE2-centric Project Management Office for the Rio Tinto's in-house IS&T group. 

 

He has a successful track record of leading major strategic project and programmes of work for organisations including Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, HBF, Wesfarmers, Western Power, Water Corporation, Woodside, Bass Hotel & Leisure Group, Dyson, Sony, Land Rover, Jaguar and IBM. Andrew has significant resources, manufacturing, food and drink, utilities, public sector and financial services sector experience. Andrew has a BA (Hons) in Modern History from Cambridge, an MSc (Technology & Innovation Management) from Sussex University, a Diploma in Management from Leicester University and is a PRINCE2 Certified Practitioner.

 


Malcolm de Silva - Executive Director

 

Malcolm is an Executive Director and Director of Enterprise Solutions at Velrada. He is a former State Director and Managing Director for Microsoft in Western Australia and the S/E Asian Region and has extensive experience in working with clients to solve business issues using innovative technology solutions. Mal has a very strong leadership, enterprise consulting and systems integration understanding and experience working in tier one public and private sector businesses around Australia and the S/E Asian Region. Mal is a UWA graduate and provides our clients with a tremendous amount of intellectual capital with regard to Enterprise Solutions. 

 

 

Andrew Fisher - Director of Information Management

 

Andrew is Director of Information Management with Velrada and has over 20 years’ experience as an evangelist for pragmatic and effective Information Management with a focus on technology and business strategy alignment inside a robust information management framework. He has worked extensively across a range of information mangement programs with clients such as AngloGold Ashanti, BHP Billiton Iron Ore, Worsley Alumina, BHP Billiton Uranium, BHP Billiton Stainless Steel, Rio Tinto, REIWA and Department of Transport (WA). Key projects that Andrew has been involved with include: lead architect and advisory consultant for the global 1Portal Migration for multiple BHP Billiton assets; development of an IM strategy to support expansion projects for BHP Billiton and AngloGold Ashanti; and lead architect for a knowledge management system leveraging the SharePoint platform in a major government department. 

 

 

Ian Gibson - Associate Director (UK)

 

Ian Gibson is an experienced consulting director with a background in large scale system projects and management and business consultancy both with larger firms such as Arthur Andersen, and with smaller independents. Ian is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FCMC). Ian has worked on a number of global transformation programmes for organisations such as GEC, Marconi, and Ciba. His recent project experience includes a re-organisation and profit improvement exercise for a leading European MRO; and a complex commercial analysis, risk management, VCA and negotiation support project in Switzerland. He has performed interim management exercises for a number of VC companies focusing on strategic management, organisational change, profit and business improvement. Ian has industry expertise in manufacturing, resources, aviation and business services.
